Mount Defiance: Ticonderoga, New York. Stands at 853 feet above sea level, rises 758 feet over Lake Champlain provides one of the most spectacular views in the northeast. You can get an aerial view of Fort Ticonderoga and Mount Independence.

The Hancock House: Ticonderoga, New York. 518.585.7868. A reproduction of John Hancock’s Boston residence and signer of the Declaration of Independence was dedicated in 1926. Today, serves as a regional museum containing fascinating exhibits.

Crown Point State Historic Site: Crown Point, New York. 518.597.4666. Visit the ruins of two fortifications from the colonial wars between the British and French. This was a strategically important peninsula long before the American Revolution.

Middlebury, Vermont; settled just after the Revolutionary War is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to Middlebury College is the cornerstone of Middlebury and a primary source of the town’s notoriety and vibrancy. 

  
Middlebury College: Founded in 1800, it is one of the oldest private liberal arts colleges in the United States. The Middlebury College Museum of Art is a must see along with the “field house” in the winter months!

Danforth Pewter: 802.989.7310. Established in 1755 in colonial Connecticut, this magnificent hand-crafted pewter is in the Smithsonian, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and many other American museums. The two pewter lamps on our dining room table are Danforth’s Skipper Oil Lamps.

University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm: Is a working horse farm which has been in business since the 1870’s and has gained worldwide renown for maintaining the Morgan horse breed.  There are hourly educational tours!  

The Robert Frost Farm: Ripton, VT.  A National Historic Landmark; this 150-acre farm property in the Green Mountains is where American poet Robert Frost lived and wrote in the summer and fall months from 1939 until his death in 1963.

The Sudbury School No. 3: Sudbury, VT. Visit this historic district stone school building built in the 1820s is a well-preserved example of the period. The school is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
